Redwood Credit Union (RCU) is committed to our Members' security, privacy and confidentiality, and we partner with Members to assist you in protecting yourself and your confidential data.
You can be assured that RCU takes extensive, proactive measures to:
- Ensure the safety and security of our Members' data and information
- Secure RCU facilities, systems, technologies, software and online services for the safety of Members and employees
- Provide educational information regarding security related topics in our Member newsletter, the Redwood Review, on our website, in our branches, in RCU materials and via free seminars and events
- Update Members about developments such as frauds and scams, and provide helpful tools and resources on our website and via other contact points
- Offer free services and events such as our annual Shred-A-Thon to provide opportunities for Members and the community to enhance their security
- Remind Members and share with new Members our commitment to privacy in our annual mailing of our Privacy Policy

How RCU Partners with Members to Enhance Your Security, Privacy and Confidentiality
RCU employs numerous efforts to partner with our Members to aid you in better protecting yourself and your confidential data. Examples of these efforts include:
- We provide all Members annually a copy of RCU's Privacy Policy, which includes specifically what our privacy efforts include and also provides helpful information such as how to be removed from direct mail and telemarketing lists with other companies, and what to do if you're a victim of identity theft.
- We educate Members via our newsletter, online, in e-alerts and in brochures and other materials about security related topics such as how to avoid identity theft, ATM safety tips, how to protect your passwords and much more.
- We provide free seminars at various locations on security related topics such as identity theft, elder financial abuse and more. Find a list of upcoming seminars here.
- We provide free security-related events, such as our annual Shred-A-Thon, where Members can dispose of confidential documents conveniently and free of charge.
